Being a social worker in Milton Keynes means you’ll be reimbursed for your social work registration fees, and you’ll receive a Golden Hello bonus* between £2,000 (G2-G4) and £3,000 (I1-I4) as a warm welcome.
We also make additional annual payments to qualifying* colleagues in social work posts. Social Workers (G2-G4) will receive £3,000 and Senior Social Workers (H1-H4) will receive £4,000.
If you're relocating to Milton Keynes, you may be eligible for a relocation allowance.*

Meet Poppy, our Principal Social Worker
Hello, I'm Poppy the Principal Social Worker for Adult Services. In 2022 I relocated to Milton Keynes from Bournemouth where I was the Manager of a Safeguarding Team and Homeless Intervention Service. I've found Milton Keynes a great place to work and live, and everyone has been extremely welcoming and friendly which has really helped with the transition of moving.

Social Work Assistant
Support adults to maintain their independence and wellbeing by carrying out assessments, developing support plans, managing caseloads, and working with individuals, families, carers and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
Apprentice Social Worker
Apprentice Social Workers support adults to maintain their independence and wellbeing while developing their social work knowledge and practical experience through assessments, safeguarding, casework and partnership working to achieve positive outcomes.
Newly Qualified Social Worker
Newly Qualified Social Workers support adults to live safe and independent lives by managing caseloads, undertaking assessments and safeguarding work, and working with partners to achieve positive outcomes while completing their ASYE programme.
Social Worker
Social Workers support adults to live safe, independent and fulfilling lives by managing complex caseloads, undertaking assessments, developing person-centred support plans, and working collaboratively with individuals, families and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
Senior Social Worker
Senior Social Workers lead on complex cases, safeguarding interventions and multi-agency working, using advanced social work expertise, professional judgement and strengths-based practice to support adults to live safe, independent and fulfilling lives while providing guidance and support to colleagues.
Practice Educator
Practice Educators support the development of Social Work students, apprentices and Newly Qualified Social Workers by providing supervision, mentoring and professional guidance, helping them build the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to deliver high-quality social work practice and positive outcomes for adults.
Advanced Practitioner (AMHP)
Advanced Practitioners (AMHPs) provide expert leadership in complex adult social care and mental health cases, undertaking specialist assessments, safeguarding and statutory interventions while using advanced professional judgement to support positive outcomes and guide the development of high-quality social work practice.
