Frequently asked questions

What progression opportunities are there?

Children’s Social Care’s progression policy is available to all Social Workers from Level 2 to Senior Practitioner level. Once you and your supervisor believe you are ready to progress to the next level, you will have an opportunity to be interviewed. Progression interviews take place in April and October each year. Progression is from Level 2 to Level 3 and Level 3 to a Senior Practitioner. We also provide Clinical Supervision for all Social Workers.

I'm an agency worker can I still apply?

Yes, Children’s Social Care have a good reputation of having Agency Social Workers join Milton Keynes Council and then apply for permanent positions.

What does Ofsted say about Children's Social Care at Milton Keynes Council?

As a priority we have given all front line workers such as Children’s Social Care staff, Foster Carers and colleagues working in accommodation an opportunity to have their Covid 19 vaccinations.
