In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping our systems secure, reliable, and ready to support the vital services we deliver to our communities. Working as part of a dedicated and collaborative team, you’ll help us maintain and improve the technology that colleagues rely on every day, making a real difference across the organisation.
Working within our ICT service, you’ll play a key role in understanding how colleagues and customers interact with our systems, and designing digital solutions that improve how we deliver services across Milton Keynes City Council. You’ll collaborate closely with developers and stakeholders to turn ideas into practical, user-focused solutions that support real needs and make a meaningful difference.

This role focuses on safeguarding our digital environment and reducing risk across our systems. You will work proactively to identify and respond to threats, manage security incidents, and ensure our services remain secure, reliable and compliant. This work directly supports the protection of critical services used by colleagues and residents every day.
Support and develop our IT infrastructure, ensuring systems remain available and effective for colleagues and our communities. You’ll provide third line technical support, manage core platforms, and help maintain secure, up-to-date systems that underpin services across MKCC. Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to resolve issues, support projects and provide expert technical advice, helping us continually improve how we use technology across the organisation.
Ensuring the right people have the right access to the right systems at the right time. You will oversee identity and access controls, monitor security alerts, and support the ongoing protection of our systems and data. Through proactive monitoring, compliance checks and collaboration with security colleagues, this role is key in maintaining a secure and reliable digital environment for the council and the communities we serve.
