Apprentice Social Worker

This role, at a glance

Role Overview

Our Apprentice Social Workers play an important role in supporting adults across Milton Keynes to maintain their independence, improve their wellbeing and achieve the outcomes that matter most to them. Working within Adult Social Care, you'll develop your social work knowledge and skills while gaining valuable practical experience, supporting individuals, families, carers and partner organisations to access the right support at the right time. The role provides a structured pathway into social work, helping you build the confidence and experience needed for a rewarding career in the profession.

The role involves supporting adults with a range of care and support needs, assisting with assessments and reviews, recognising and responding to risk, and contributing to safeguarding work with appropriate guidance and supervision. You'll learn how to apply social work theory, legislation and strengths-based approaches in practice, helping people identify their strengths, make informed choices and achieve positive outcomes. Managing a developing caseload, maintaining accurate records and completing reports within agreed timescales are important aspects of the role.

A key part of the role is working closely with experienced colleagues and partner agencies, participating in supervision and developing reflective practice.
