Milton Keynes is a place of opportunity.

The city is expanding through housing and industrial development and with our ‘can do’ attitude we embrace new innovation and technologies such as the e-scooters, driverless pods and cars, delivery robots and rapid transit systems.

The Council’s Highways team is a key part of this development. Our Scheme teams work closely with developers in the new areas of the city and our Asset team are always looking at how we can apply new techniques and technology to maintain our roads, the unique redway network and other assets. We’re also involved in big events that come to MK like the Rugby World Cup and Women’s UEFA!

The opportunities to grow and learn as an individual and a professional are here. We support and develop our Highways team to be the best they can be, whether it’s training opportunities or getting involved in different projects to get the right experience.

Contract Positions
Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF)

We’re putting a team together to deliver and oversee the planning, programming and delivery of the highways infrastructure following our successful £95m Housing Infrastructure bid. This overall HIF project will include a new community hub, primary school, new bridge across the M1 as well as the significant highway infrastructure.

As a key member of the HIF delivery team, you will be the key client contact with our highway service provider for these major £multi-million schemes from the early feasibility and scheme design principals through to guiding the final scheme designs.

You’ll also be overseeing and assisting with the procurement of major works schemes and NEC contractual arrangements, taking the lead officer role during major scheme consultations and project management to ensure stakeholder and customer engagements.

If you have experience delivering £multi-million highway and structures schemes and are looking for a new challenge on a high profile scheme then we want to hear from you!
